Our Summer Garden - Fruits and Veggies

Juicy blackberries ripen quickly in the heat. Sweetly luscious. The Marionberries and Kotata berries are more than halfway through their harvest. Bags of berries crowd the freezer.

The thornless blackberries are beginning their harvest now. They are laden with fruit.

The bowl on the left holds thornless blackberries and the one on the right the marionberries and kotata berries.

The first two cherry tomatoes of the season were a delicious addition to last night's salad.

A colorful harvest. The first plum of the season, too. Blueberries are nearing the end of their harvest.

Plums ripen above.

A basket of plums picked using the long-handled picker.

Onions.

Beds of beans.

Grapes.

Snippets of mid-summer in our fruit and vegetable garden. Dirt under my nails. Berry juice stains. Fresh fruits and veggies at every meal. Smoothies. The promise of harvests to come, and jam and jellies and canning.

  1. I just love your garden's bounty! What a wonderful photographer you are - just love the berry picture at the top.
I'm so sorry I missed you at the Fiber Arts Stroll - we were out of town! How did it go?!

  2. Hi! Thank you. I enjoyed reading your blog posts from your travels. We too have been away from home - and my computer.

The Fiber Art Stroll was great - my dolls and I had a pleasant spot near the door inside (the airconditioned) bookstore. Many people stopped by and some are interested in taking my Whimsical Wired Angels class this November.
