Showers

Cool days followed a hot spell of weather, and then refreshing showers arrived ... the tomatoes dripped with rain.

Plums, nestled under their green cover, turned color as they ripened.

Some plums had passed their prime - lay fallen beneath the trees.

Lavender cast its scent in the herb bed.

... mingled with the aromas of its herb bed-mates.

Thornless blackberries recovering from the too hot days, producing a steady stream of sweet juicy fruit.

The bean buds were a welcome sight - and there were a few teeny tiny beans, too small for my camera to capture with the plants swaying in the breeze. Home grown beans are among our favorite veggies to eat fresh and to can.

The sky on the day of sunshine and showers these photos were taken on.

  1. Beautiful photos, Marion :) I'm wishing I were among your garden greens to take in the scent of hot steamy plants...I love that smell after a rain, and when the sun comes out and warms it all up. Today was very chilly compared to how warm it has been, which is a nice change, but I need a few more warm days before work starts up again!
