Time for a New Fence

We heard on the radio news that it had been windy while we were out of town over the weekend. A fatality and 30,000 people without power were attributed to the storm.

We did not anticipate the sight that greeted us at our home upon our return. The gate and a fence panel were missing between the garage and the rest of the fence; one half of the gate lay on the ground, the other half swayed dangerously, and the displaced fence panel lay in the middle of the backyard about 100 feet away from its proper place.

There are very strong winds from the south at our home and we determined shortly after installing the good neighbor fence more than a dozen years ago that having a solid fence was going to be a problem because of the severe weather. We've considered various non-solid fence alternatives and obtained quotes for replacing the fence, but hadn't yet gotten around to doing it.

With the happenings over the weekend it appears that Now is the time for that new see-through fence. I am already enjoying the view of the neighborhood through the place where the missing part of the solid fence used to be.

A storm, change and a new perspective.
