Following is a list of books I found useful while preparing for the class.
Wireworking References
When I first started working with wire, I experimented on my own for a while, then took a wireworking class at a local bead shop. That class taught wire and wireworking basics and was a great introduction. The class was based on this book, written by Mark Lareau. This is my primary wireworking reference:
- Lareau, Mark, All wired up: wire techniques for the beadworker and jewelry maker : a beadwork how-to book, Interweave Press, October 2000, ISBN 1-883010-73-X
In addition to WigJig information and designs, this book contains useful general wire working tips & hints:
- Karen Ray, Betty Bacon, Gary Helwig, Wonderful, Wearable Wire: Elegant and Easy Wire Jewelry Designs Using the Olympus WigJig, Helwig Industries LLC, January 1999, ISBN 0-9650784-2-6
There is a good basic wireworking section in:
- Judith Durant and Jean Campbell, The New! Beader's Companion, Interweave Press, September 2005, ISBN 1931499926
Fabric Bead References
- Kristal Wick, Fabulous fabric beads: create custom beads and art jewelry, Interweave Press, September 2008, ISBN 978-1-59668-077-7
