The day started brightly as I finished binding this 12" x 36" Sponsor Quilt for the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show. I took a few minutes to do a photo shoot of the finished piece out on the deck.
The drive in to Sisters was beautiful. The Quilt Show Office was bustling, and all around there were piles of quilts! All day long quilts arrived.
They were checked in and piled to be folded, folded and tagged and placed in piles to be sorted, then sorted into piles. Here are a couple of sorted piles that caught my eye.
Purple quilts...
Asian quilts ...
I folded quilts at this table with Teresa - in the spot near where that lovely quilt is hanging. So many quilts of different shapes and sizes and colors and patterns. Each with its own story.
My sponsor quilt sorted onto its pile ... all tagged for the show.
The quilt on the top of the next pile over. The square blocks are folded log cabin blocks.
Later in the day looking towards the new home across the street and the snowcapped mountains beyond. Not long after this picture was shot, I returned over to the west side of the mountains.
Summer flowers bloom near the birdfeeder in sunlight and shadows.
The pond, rebuilt, is larger than in years past, and full, with newly planted grass coming up along its banks.
Summer blooms.
