Spent the weekend taking a "Paper Tiles" class taught by Rebecca Wild at the Oregon College of Art and Craft. This is my class portfolio. The campus is beautiful this time of year, with lots of activity. Magic exists in nooks and crannies and also in plain view, waiting to be discovered by the unsuspecting - round red paper bits on pins cascade down a wall, across a platform and down again, appearing at a glance to be a trail of leaves ... and in the courtyard those clods of brown, upon closer inspection, turn out to be masks disintegrating in the autumn rains among falling leaves.
A sweet little portfolio for our weekend creations.
Paints, pastels, debossing and colored pencils. Layering using masking tape and frisket (what a fun word) and vinyl letters. Graphite, too.
The beginning of a chakra series. Red, orange and yellow are "done". Green is started. My friends from "The Way We Art" in Sisters, Oregon inspire and encourage my evolving chakra exploration - most recently, Katie's chakra series of newsletters.
